Osborne Porto Vintage, 1995
Untitled Document

Wine Enthusiast 90 Points:

“This house was one of only a few that declared ’95 a vintage year, but the proof is in the bottle: the decision was a good one. There’s tons of stuffing and structure here, and it’s just starting to come around to show defined plum, licorice and coffee flavors. It’s a tad hot on the finish, but that should fade if given another 10 years in the cellar.”

Dow's 1994 Vintage Port
Untitled Document

Robert Parker 96 Points:

“The massive 1994 is unquestionably the finest Dow I have tasted since the 1977. This opaque purple-colored wine is not as developed or flamboyant as Fonseca, but it is super-concentrated and multi-layered, with huge masses of fruit and some tannin in the finish.

This is a slightly drier style than Fonseca or Graham's, but it appears to be a classic, majestic, enormously constituted 1994 that should age effortlessly for three decades or more. It is one of the stars of the vintage.”

Ficklin Old Vine Tinta Port, Madera CA, NV
750 ml Jerry Mead, Mead on Wine: "Wine of the Year, Ficklin Vineyards Tinta Port... the one California wine that has pleased my palate consistently for the 30-some years I've been a serious wine fancier."
"Spicy, dark, ripe plum fruit flavor, with the beginning of complexity perfectly balanced fruit, to sweetness, to alcohol... I really don't think you can buy a more satisfying bottle of Port anywhere for less money."
